Reinhard Bonnke
The man who won millions of souls
Timeline of Reinhard Bonnke's life:
- 1940 - Born in Königsberg, East Prussia, Germany.
- 1949 - Became a born-again Christian after his mother spoke with him about a sin that he had committed.
- 1959 - Went to the (non-Pentecostal) conservative evangelical Bible College of Wales in Swansea.
- 1964 - Got married to Anni Suelze.
- 1967 - Embarked on missionary life in Africa in the small mountain kingdom of Lesotho.
- 1971 - Moved to the city of Maseru, where he relied on the printing press heavily and began CfaN press, Christ for all Nations press.
- 1974 - Founded Christ for All Nations, becoming the inspiring visionary who always spoke of “plundering hell to populate heaven.”
- 1984 - Commissioned the construction of the world’s largest mobile structure at the time — a tent capable of seating 34,000 people
- 1986 - Held the first Fire Conference in Harare, Zimbabwe.
- 2013 - States “Some people call me a healing evangelist. I do not like that. I define myself as a salvation evangelist who also prays for the sick. Wherever we go, 95 percent of the meeting is a clear preaching presentation of the gospel.”
- 2016 - Diagnosed with throat cancer
- 2017 - Held Farewell Crusade in Africa
- 2019 - Died at home, surrounded by family, and is survived by his wife, three children, and eight grandchildren.
